Health Centre Closure
Due to the recent death of Her Majesty The Queen the Health Centre will be closed on Monday 19th September to observe the national bank holiday. If you have already have an appointment booked that day the Health Centre will be in touch with you shortly to rearrange. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the Royal Family in this difficult time.
Pre-bookable online appointments
We would like to inform you that pre-bookable face-to-face and telephone consultations with the Doctors and some Nurse appointments are now available to book online through our online services. Please note that when booking a telephone appointment slot that the call will not be at the time you book. The clinician will aim to phone you within an hour window of the time that you book.
If you are not set up with an online account please download our online registration forms from our website, fill out your details and return the completed forms with some photo ID. Alternatively you can collect a copy of our online registration form from the front desk any weekday between 8.30am and 6.00pm.
Flu and Covid Booster Clinic
We are now starting the roll out of flu and covid vaccinations clinics at the surgery.
The appointments will be a clinic with a time slot, we will be contacting patients by text and phone to arrange these appointments.
During the month of May 62 patients booked GP and Nursing appointments but did not attend.
These appointments added up to Fourteen and a half hours of wasted clinic time.
If you have booked an appointment but can no longer attend please contact the Health Centre to let us know.
We would like to announce that sadly Dr Tawse will be leaving at the end of June 2022.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank him for hos hard work, dedication and to say that he will all be dearly missed and that we wish them a long and happy retirement.
Appointments update please read
Now that the refurbishment to GP side of the Health Centre is nearly completed, we will be changing the way we offer appointments whilst staying Covid safe we would ask that you still wear a mask when attending the health centre.
From February we will be offering both pre-booked telephones calls and face to face appointments. We have asked our Receptionists to get brief details about your request for an appointment and you will be navigated to the most appropriate Clinician or service which could be a telephone or face to face consultation with either a GP, Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurse, Clinical Pharmacist (deals with medication queries) or Mental Health Worker (deals with anxiety, depression).
Monday is the busiest day of the week in the Practice, so we ask that you bear this in mind when you ring for an appointment. If you have had a problem for a period of time please either pre-book an appointment or ring for an appointment Tuesday to Friday.
We will still be operating our daily Ill on the Day Service where you will be offered a telephone call in the first instance. Please use this service for acute illness only. If you have an ongoing issue or something you have had for a while, please pre-book a telephone or face to face consultation.
Between the hours of 6.00 pm and 6.30 pm Monday - Friday the practice doors will be locked but we do operate a telephone answering service dealing with urgent request during this time.
Please bear in mind that if you wish to speak to or see a particular Clinician you may have to wait a little while as some of our Clinician's work part-time.
We are aiming to provide the best possible care for all our patients so we will monitor how the appointments system works and adapt it as necessary.
We thank you for your support over the last 2-years during a very difficult time for us all.
Hopefully with a newly refurbished Health Centre we will be able to continue to provide responsive and effective care for our patients

As well as the general practice the health centre also has a large community team which work from the health centre this includes the district nursing service, health visiting service, school health service, midwives and mental health services.
The Health Centre is also used by various community and hospital services which enables patients to be seen locally rather than them travelling to the local hospitals.
The aim of the practice is to provide a helpful and friendly service while continuing to improve the quality and range of healthcare services that we offer to our patients through the Practice.
